1                  Declarations of interest. None were made

 

2                  To receive and accept apologies for absence. Apologies were accepted from Malcolm Willetts, Michael Binns and Irene Greaves.

 

3                  To approve the minutes of the meeting held in February. The minutes were agreed as a correct record

 

4                  Questions from the floor. There were no questions.

 

5                  Clerk’s report (attached). The report was accepted

7                  Reports from County and District Councillors. Cllr Fairbank reported that a triple wheelie bin would be delivered to residents soon and that Craven taxi drivers would be required to take driving tests. Cllr Wheeler said the council expected to make significant savings over the next 3 years and 9 parcels of land would be sold for local housing.

9                  Planning:  

1 Applications received:

53/2005/520 Construction of rear garden room extension, Copy Nook, Mr and Mrs Gidley. No comments were made

 

2 Applications approved:

53/2004/4944 Conversion of barns to provide office areas with associated living accommodation. Hawshaw Lodge

 

 

10              Footway lighting maintenance contract: To consider renewing the NYCC contract. It was agreed to renew the contract.

 

11              Tender for works 2005-2006: To consider tenders received. Both tenders were accepted.

 

12              To consider contract of employment, job description and grievance procedure for the clerk (attached). The item was postponed.

 

 

13              Parish Plan: To receive and consider the Parish Action Plan (attached) (Andrew Wheatstone). The item was postponed.

 

14              Youth Club: To consider a request for support. It was agreed to write to the Village Trust asking them to look sympathetically on waiving the rent for a trial period, and also agreed to support the venture financially if it was legally possible.

 

 

15               Items of minor information:

(a)  Party in the Park: It was agreed to allow the recreation ground and marquee to be used. A request for financial support would be considered at the next meeting.. The new Lothersdale book would be on sale at the event.

(b)   It was agreed to discuss support for computer equipment at another meeting.

(c)    Information on ownership of the ginnel behind Rowan House was  requested

(d)   One elector had complained about the parish precept but withdrew the comment after the rise had been explained.

(e)   One resident had expressed interest in wind turbines on his land.

(f)      Request for hedge cutting on White Hill Lane repeated.

2 Applications approved:

53/2005/5091 Two storey extension, Bent Laithe Farm, Mr and Mrs Pickles.

 

4                  Incident in the recreation groundIt was resolved to exclude the press and public by reason of the confidential nature of the business.

It was agreed to write a strong letter of concern to the individuals involved and seek restoration of the football pitch.

 

5         Items of minor information:  Cllr Willetts reported that efforts to link the Millennium Walk with a nearby footpath could become fruitful.
