Minutes of a Parish Council meeting on April 10, 2006, at 7.30pm at the Club House

                                            Cllr Mike Gover

In attendance:                Stephen Cohen  (parish clerk)

1                  Declarations of interest.   None were made

2                  To receive and accept apologies for absence. None were received

3                  Questions from the floor. The Chairman ruled that members of the public were not allowed to ask questions.

4                  The Clerk made a statement (copy attached).  Cllr Willetts proposed that the meeting should be closed and that the Clerk and the Chairman, or a representative, meet to discuss matters.  The proposal was defeated by 4 votes to 1.

The Clerk asked the Chairman for the statute under which he was proposing to exclude the Clerk from the meeting. He stated he could find nothing that allowed the Clerk to be excluded.

5                  By 4 votes to 1, it was resolved to exclude members of the press and the public from the meeting by reason of the confidential nature of the business to be transacted.

The Clerk presented a letter of grievance to the meeting.

Cllr Gover proposed that the Council discuss the matters with the Clerk. The Chairman said he had been advised that a formal meeting had to be held before talks with the Clerk could take place. The proposal was then withdrawn.

A hand-written minute of the meeting so far was then approved by the Council and signed by the Chairman. 

    The Clerk left the meeting at 8.00pm.
