Minutes of a Parish Council meeting on June 6, 2006, at 7.00pm at the Club House

In attendance:                1 member of the public for part of the meeting

 

 

 

1         Declaration of interest.                         
None

2         To receive and accept apologies for absence. 
Apologies were accepted from Cllr Binns.

3         To consider the appointment of solicitors to represent the Parish Council. 
YLCA had suggested that it would be sensible to get legal advice. It was proposed by Cllr Wheatstone, seconded by Cllr Marshall and agreed unanimously that a solicitor should be appointed in any forthcoming legal action. Any cost would be borne by the Council.

4         To consider the Council’s response to the Standards Board for England over alleged improprieties.
No response was necessary in the case of Cllrs Binns, Gover and Wheatstone as the Standards Board had decided that no investigation was necessary. The allegation against Cllr Marshall would be vigorously refuted by her and backed by Cllr Wheatstone. 

5         To consider the Council’s response to an Employment Tribunal.
The Council will contest the claims of Mr. S. Cohen made to the Employment Tribunal but agreed unanimously to work with ACAS to explore the possibility of a settlement.

6         Items of minor information.                                                                                                                                    
(i)                 Goalposts. These were on order.

(ii)           Disabled access to Meetings. This would be discussed at the next meeting.
